Great Gray Owls – Will Leave Soon

They will be going back home soon, who knows if they will be back next year of not.

If you haven’t made it out to see these birds, now is the time.  It is an opportunity not to be missed.

Is been fun seeing, getting out of the house and snapping a few photos.  I am still processing images from the last eruption of Owls, so I only made 1 trip to Rockcliffe Parkway.  The Owls were active and I did manage to get this image.  I will print this and it will hang somewhere in the house.  Thanks for looking.

Please remember, I do not sell my images.

This may change when I retire but I doubt it.

I just really love searching for and finding anything wild, especially birds.

I love being out in nature, be it for fauna or flora, with binoculars or camera.  I’ll continue to do so until I die.

Getting images is secondary, although I never miss an opportunity, when presented.

Mahi-mahi or Common Dolphinfish

Mahi-mahi means very strong fish in Hawaiian.  It is a well deserved name.  After 1/2 hour of trying to bring this fish in, 4 very long runs, getting the fish tangled in a lobster trap line and 20 foot swells. I finally saw what was at the other end of the line.

I was the only one who didn’t throw up (thanks Fin for the anti-seasick pill) on board, but believe me I did some heavy praying to the fishing gods, for a very tense hour.  Best thing I heard that morning was “your time is up time to head back”.

I really want to thank, Fin and Martin from Denmark for letting me go along.

I saw 3 birds (tern, shearwater and gull species),  fly by at a distance but it was during my praying moments, and the horizon was all I could focus on.

Another fish species crossed off my bucket list…….
